U.S. Local Business Association's Award Plaque Honors the Achievement WASHINGTON D.C., December 14, 2008 -- Chesapeake Ear, Nose, & Throat has been selected for the 2008 Best of Elkton Award in the Physicians category by the U.S. Local Business Association (USLBA). The USLBA "Best of Local Business" Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USLBA identifies companies that they believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2008 USLBA Award Program focused on quality, not quantity. Dr. Martini Attends Balloon Sinuplasty Training Course April 2008 |

| Selected Sinus Surgery patients can now be treated with new technology called the Balloon Sinuplasty. This is a minimally invasive surgical technique where a balloon is inserted into the closed sinus drainage channel. The balloon is then inflated to open the drainage pathway. Balloon sinuplasty is a modern adaptation of proven sinus surgery technology including stereo tactic and fluoroscopic techniques. Recently the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery board declared that the evidence regarding the safety of sinus balloon catherization is a promising technique for the treatment of selected cases of rhino sinusitis. Dr. Martini recently attended a training course to update his skills in this technique.
